Advantages of using POME in growing microalgae on large scale

POME as a source of nutrient for growing microalgae it may lead to generate valuable lipids, biopolymers, fatty acids and probably monomeric constituents of PHAs .These products are suitable for many applications mainly renewable energies in terms of fuels which have high potential and market value. In addition, probably in near future  biodegradable plastics can replace to conventional plastics made from petroleum based which is harmful to the environment.

POME containing waste water. In Biotechnology aspect this can be looked into as the  biological approach of treating POME in obtaining different valuable products, which can be characterised in terms of
 1) Cost effective treatment

2) Low energy requirement

 3) Reduction in sludge formation

4) Production of high algal biomass

5) Indigenous microalgae containing high amount of lipids will be isolated also by-products such as poly saccharid, bioenergies, etc will be characterized

6) POME will be used as a substrate for growing algae which will be cost effective in cultivating mircroalgae.
